Rosie Lee have designed a new identity, website and stationery set for photographer Tom Hull.
“Having amassed an impressive body of work since his emergence in 2004, London-based photographer Tom Hull approached us to create a new identity and website that would affirm his arrival on the professional creative circuit and help grow his reputation with clients.” says Mark Fleming, creative director at Rosie Lee.
He goes on to explain that “to help Tom stand out we created for him something that most photographers don’t have – a unique marque. Taking the first letter of his name, the marque referenced the viewfinder grid lines found on cameras to create a sense of approachable confidence and experience.
Using the same double lines, we created a full logotype of bespoke letterforms offset against a careful use of negative space to provide a touch of informality. We also used the lines to echo the identity across applications such as the website and stationery.
We designed and built Tom a simple but sophisticated online portfolio showcasing his photography in the way he intended – as shot, un-cropped and with plenty of breathing space. To keep the focus on the photos we used minimal colour, user-friendly navigation and smooth, dynamic movement that flexes to different browsers and devices.”
